North Shore Marina is a private campground located only a couple miles south of Republican City, Nebraska. All our camping sites are full hook up spots with 20/30/50 amp electric.
In 1935 a storm hit the area - leaving over 24” of rain on the Republican River wa tershed. Sadly this flood wiped out the original Republican City within minutes. Many lives were lost and cattle gone! The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers researched a potential location for a dam, and they chose this area. In 1952 Republican City was moved and relocated about 2 miles north on higher grounds. At that same time, the first North Shore Marina was built. So many changes have happened over the years to make it the beautiful resort that it is today! The flood of 2019 has played a very important role in the marina that you see now. The water damage to the buildings was so devastating that a decision was going to have to be made as to what to do. New plans were drawn - lots of hard work was done by many and almost eight months later we were ready to open the beautiful Marina!
Our marina provides everything you will need as well as everything you may have forgotten. The Restaurant within the marina has a great variety of menu items with amazing taste and seating with beautiful views.
We have Pontoons that can be reserved by the day or by the hour. We also have a beautiful Event Center that is home of one of the original marinas. The Event Center can be reserved and rented and is the perfect space for a family get together. North Shore Marina is a community that regards family as its highest priority. We have on site management with courteous, friendly and knowledgeable staff to help ensure a great camping experience!
Whether you’re a “Weekender Camper” or a die hard “Happy Camper”, you’ll find everything you need here at North Shore Marina! Friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable management and staff are ready to help with any needs that may arise!
Harlan County Lake is the leading attraction in Nebraska’s Harlan County, and North Shore Marina is the premier center of recreation on Harlan County Lake! Beyond the exceptional boating and walleye fishing, there is plenty to do in the local area from your base in our marina or one of our campsites. You can spend a day floating on a tube on the Republican River, or enjoy one of the many nearby trail networks that are devoted to hiking, horseback riding, bicycling, or off-road vehicle use. There are trails through rolling hills, green forests, and prairie grasslands. In the City of Alma, 15 miles to the west, you will find a 9-hole municipal golf course, shopping, dining, churches, and a full range of essential services.
